Creusabro® wear plate offers new and improved material properties compared to traditional water-hardened wear plates (HB500). For example, it is well-suited for applications in the mining, excavation, crushing, and recycling industries.
The unique manufacturing process, involving carefully controlled oil cooling and tailored metallurgy, results in a wear plate that is hard "through and through" in a way that is fundamentally different from the commonly used wear plate today (HB500).
Better Operational Economy
The material maintains its hardness up to approximately 450°C, contains Cr- and Mo-carbides, which further harden the material during wear and achieve its full wear resistance during use, allowing for a simpler manufacturing process, such as cold forming. With significantly better wear resistance throughout the thickness of the plate and considerably easier formability compared to HB500, Creusabro® offers:
Extended lifespan for wear components (typically 30-100% longer lifespan compared to HB500 plate).
More options to protect particularly exposed parts from wear.
Possibility for increased payload through thinner plates while maintaining lifespan.
Better operational economy.
Bergs Mekaniska is proud to offer ArcelorMittal’s product range in Creusabro® and gladly welcomes inquiries about the material and its properties.
