This is helpful if we receive:
- Drawing files in PDF and DXF (or DWG).
- STP file for processing and bending.
- Clear specification of material quality and thickness.
- Clear specification of tolerances/critical dimensions and any required manufacturing methods.
- Bent parts in an unfolded format.
- Other requirements clearly specified: certificates, traceability, flatness, specific cutting methods, etc.
- Other operations clearly specified: bending, threading, drilling, blasting, etc.
- If the subjects to be processed are ordered, it is very helpful to specify both the screen dimensions and finished dimensions.
Things to consider:
When ordering details for your own designs or if you have the opportunity to adjust the design you are working on, there is much you can do to get the best possible price from us at BERGS.
Here are some tips:
1: Volume. The most important factor is the number of details. Each new quality/thickness we need to cut involves setup time (so-called setup cost). Larger volumes of the same quality/thickness result in a better price per detail.
2: Delivery Time. If you can wait for your details, we can offer you a better price. If you have a project with a large volume of details, it might be feasible for us to order material directly from the mill instead of from a wholesaler. This can help keep material costs down.
3: Tolerances. Tighter tolerances cost more. Stricter tolerances require greater precision and limit our choice of production methods. Consider where you really need tight tolerances.
4: Same Quality/Thickness. Refer to point 1. Try to keep your details within the same quality and thickness; this way, you get a larger volume per cut = better price.
Flexibility: More flexible materials in terms of quality provide us with greater opportunities to manufacture cost-effectively.
5: Certificates/Traceability. Most of BERGS' material stock is linked to material certificates. Delivering material with accompanying certificates is therefore straightforward. However, delivering items with traceability (Internal designation SBH) requires special handling in our production. Consider whether you really need traceability for the items in your project.
